NYSEG reported that 988 of their 38,310 customers in the county were in the dark as of 3:20 p.m. on Tuesday afternoon. In total, 3,420 NYSEG customers in the area were reporting outages, including a handful in Dutchess, Orange and Westchester counties.
In Putnam, Patterson was hit the hardest, with 914 customers reporting outages. Additional outages were reported in Kent (53), Putnam Valley (20) and Southeast (one). No estimated time of restoration has been provided.
A cold front is expected to hit the area on Tuesday afternoon, bringing thunderstorms and cooler temperatures - as well as strong wind gust s, thunder and lightning. Flooding has also been predicted in urban and low-lying areas.
